The inferno has heavily damaged multiple homes and local businesses. Firefighting crews are currently battling intense flames at an oil processing factory and a recycling plant, both of which continue to burn out of control. In response to the hazardous air quality, local officials have strictly advised nearby residents to stay indoors, close all windows, and limit outdoor exposure to protect themselves from the dangerous fumes, News.Az reports, citing Anadolu Agency.
The dangerous conditions have already taken a physical toll on first responders. Five firefighters have been hospitalized as a result of the ongoing containment efforts—three suffering from acute respiratory issues, one treating a hand injury, and another sidelined by severe exhaustion.
