Police said that emergency services were called to the home at about 7:40 p.m. local time on Saturday and found the man suffering a gunshot wound to his back, Xinhua reports.
Officers were told several men entered the home and allegedly shot the man before they left in a white SUV.
The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene was established, and an investigation commenced.
