In a statement, the governorate said 593 settlers entered the compound through the Dung Gate (Bab al-Maghariba) on the second day of the Jewish holiday, according to Anadolu Agency.
The incursions took place during both morning and afternoon sessions and were carried out under the protection of Israeli forces, according to the statement.
The Jerusalem Governorate had initially reported that 480 settlers had entered the compound before revising the figure upward to 593.

In a separate statement, the governorate said Israeli authorities limited access to Al-Aqsa during Sunday’s dawn prayers to the Hutta and Chain gates.
Israeli authorities also introduced age restrictions for Palestinian worshippers. According to the governorate, soldiers stationed at checkpoints declined to specify which age groups were allowed to enter the mosque compound.
As a result of the restrictions, many worshippers were unable to reach Al-Aqsa, while a small number who managed to get to the area were forced to perform prayers outside the mosque gates.
The restrictions came as Israeli Temple groups called for increased incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound during the Jewish New Year.
The Jerusalem Governorate described the incursions as part of an ongoing escalation targeting the mosque during the Jewish holiday period, accompanied by an increase in orders preventing Palestinians from entering the site.
According to the governorate, it has documented around 850 such orders since the beginning of the year.
