Netflix announced Lin’s departure on Monday, October 19. The company said last week that content chief Bela Bajaria would also leave after nearly a decade at the platform. Former Disney executive Peter Rice has been named as her replacement, Reuters reported.
Rice will oversee Netflix’s film division until a new head is appointed, according to the company.

The leadership changes come as Netflix faces questions about its growth prospects and ability to maintain user engagement amid competition from creator-led video platforms such as YouTube.
Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos recently said the company was “not growing as fast as I want us to,” highlighting concerns about its pace of expansion.
During his tenure, Lin oversaw several major projects, including “KPop Demon Hunters,” which became a breakout hit for Netflix and won an Academy Award, strengthening the company’s feature animation strategy.
Lin previously held a senior executive role at Warner Bros. Pictures and worked as a producer on projects including “Sherlock Holmes” and the Lego films.
Netflix is also cutting about 6% of its workforce, according to a report cited by Reuters. The company is scheduled to release its third-quarter results after markets close on Tuesday, with investors expected to assess its latest performance and growth outlook.
