The Israeli military said the man was killed after allegedly attempting to carry out a car-ramming attack near the Ganim settlement in the northern West Bank. The army did not identify the man, Anadolu Agency reported.
Ganim, east of Jenin, was evacuated in 2005 under Israel’s unilateral disengagement plan. Israeli authorities allowed settlers to return to the area in August.

The incident followed a reported shooting near the Nili settlement in the central West Bank. Israel’s public broadcaster said a settler was injured in a drive-by shooting.
Israeli forces have tightened security measures across the West Bank ahead of the start of Yom Kippur on Sunday evening, according to Israeli authorities.
Tensions have continued to rise across the occupied territory since the war in Gaza began in October 2023. Israeli military operations and settler attacks have resulted in Palestinian deaths and arrests, while demolitions of Palestinian homes and settlement expansion have also continued.
Palestinians and rights groups have repeatedly criticized Israeli military operations and settlement activity in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and have raised concerns about increased restrictions and incursions around the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
The latest incidents come as violence and security operations continue across the West Bank, where the conflict in Gaza has contributed to a broader deterioration in conditions.
