The National Observatory activated a red alert on Sunday, warning that the storm could bring torrential rainfall through Wednesday across several regions, including Fujian, Zhejiang and Shanghai, as well as parts of Shandong, Tianjin and Beijing, Anadolu Agency reported.
Typhoon Dolphin is forecast to make landfall along the eastern coast between Zhoushan in Zhejiang province and Fuding in Fujian province.

The storm is expected to bring short-duration periods of intense rainfall, thunderstorms and gale-force winds to affected areas.
As of Sunday morning, the center of Typhoon Dolphin was about 215 kilometers offshore, east of Wenzhou in Zhejiang province.
China’s National Meteorological Center said the typhoon was moving westward at between 20 and 25 kilometers per hour. After making landfall, the storm is expected to turn west-northwest and gradually weaken.
Shanghai has significantly increased its preparations because of its proximity to Zhejiang. More than 100,000 residents are being relocated, while 378 temporary shelters have been prepared for emergency use, according to thepaper.cn.
Ferry services in Shanghai have also been suspended as authorities prepare for the storm.
The latest measures come as officials across eastern China strengthen emergency preparations for what could become a major weather threat to densely populated coastal areas.
