US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that Ukraine should get a new leader capable of reaching a deal to end the war with Russia, arguing that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had missed several opportunities to negotiate an agreement, Reuters reports.

“He could have made many deals and for some reason he never does … I think it’s time for Ukraine to get a new President,” Trump said before departing for Tennessee, and while criticizing Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries. He argued that the attacks could create global diesel shortages and affect US farmers and ranchers, claiming Washington had warned Kyiv not to target the facilities. “He better damn well stop,” he urged Zelenskyy.
