As the 2026 midterm campaign season draws to a close, President Donald Trump delivered his final scheduled remarks of the election cycle, saying Republicans had “given this a very strong shot,” CBS News reported.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court rejected the Trump administration’s attempt to set aside 20,000 ballots in California.
Tensions within the Democratic Party also came into public view on Sunday, following a rift between Abdul El-Sayed, a Democratic Senate candidate in Michigan, and his primary rival, Haley Stevens. Stevens endorsed Republican candidate Mike Rogers.
On Monday, Stevens said El-Sayed was “unfit to serve,” drawing criticism from Democrats. However, Representative Debbie Dingell argued that the dispute was “galvanizing” voters in support of El-Sayed.
