“The likelihood of another round of fighting with Iran is growing,” Golan wrote on X on Sunday, Anadolu Agency reported.
He said repeated rounds of conflict with Iran demonstrated what he described as Netanyahu’s failure, arguing that the prime minister “lacks the moral legitimacy, and even the basic capacity” to manage another confrontation.

Golan urged political leaders to form a new government as soon as possible, warning that Israel’s security and the safety of its citizens could be at risk under Netanyahu’s leadership.
His comments followed reports in Israeli and US media suggesting that Israel and the United States could launch another attack on Iran after the US midterm elections scheduled for Nov. 3. No new attack was confirmed in the report.
The warning also came amid political uncertainty after last week’s Israeli parliamentary elections failed to give either Netanyahu’s bloc or opposition parties enough seats to form a government independently.
Preliminary results showed Netanyahu’s bloc winning 53 seats in the 120-member Knesset, while Jewish opposition parties secured 48 seats and Palestinian parties won 19.
No bloc reached the 61 seats required for a parliamentary majority, leaving several possible political outcomes, including a government supported by Palestinian parties, a national unity administration or another election.
Netanyahu, 76, is also facing an ongoing corruption trial over allegations of bribery, fraud and breach of trust. If convicted, he could face imprisonment.
In addition, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu in November 2024 over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in connection with Israel’s war on Gaza, which began in October 2023.
