The ICC has indicted the Taliban’s education minister, Habibullah Agha, and the country’s higher education minister, Neda Mohammad Nadeem, on charges of crimes against humanity stemming from the Taliban regime’s oppression of women and girls, Sweden Herald reported.

The court has no police force of its own and therefore relies on member states to make arrests if the ministers cross their borders.
The Taliban regained power in Afghanistan in August 2021 and have since imposed extensive restrictions and bans on girls’ and women’s education.
