Aysel Umudova, a member of Meydan TV, was placed under a 4-month detention order on 6 December.

Her lawyer, Aqil Layic, stated that the charges against her remain unclear, and mentioned that she has not been feeling well and that emergency medical assistance had been called for her twice.

Other members of the channel also face similar detention measures.Reports indicate that Aysel’s health has significantly worsened, with an increase in her panic attacks. Her relatives shared that her condition has caused her body to tremble continuously and she vomited repeatedly during the trial, requiring frequent trips to the restroom.Due to the severity of her condition, Aysel carries a bag in her pocket to cope with vomiting. At the Baku Main Police Department, her blood pressure dropped, prompting an emergency call. Her health has deteriorated as she struggles to eat and continues to vomit.Dozens of journalists in Azerbaijan have been detained under similar charges, with local and international human rights organizations calling for their immediate release.
