The operation was carried out on Wednesday in Kalat district following reports of a terrorist presence in the area, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military, Xinhua reported.
During the operation, security forces located and destroyed a terrorist hideout, killing all 12 terrorists, the statement said.

A cache of ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) was also destroyed at the site, according to the military.
Security forces have launched sanitization operations in the area to locate and eliminate any other terrorists who may still be present, the statement added.
