The Shabwa governorate said the attack struck the facility while newly recruited internal security personnel were undergoing training, Anadolu Agency reported.
In a statement published on Facebook, the local authorities condemned the attack and called for urgent measures to strengthen security and prevent further strikes.

“The scale of this tragedy cannot be met with condemnation alone, but requires urgent military and security measures to prevent such attacks from recurring,” the statement said.
The governorate urged Yemen’s internationally recognized government and the Saudi-led coalition to strengthen the province’s defensive capabilities.
The Houthis had not immediately commented on the reported attack.
The incident comes amid escalating hostilities between the Houthis and forces aligned with Yemen’s internationally recognized government, which is backed by the Saudi-led coalition.
Yemen has been mired in conflict since 2014, when the Houthis seized the capital, Sanaa, and took control of large parts of the country’s north. The conflict has since triggered a prolonged humanitarian crisis and continued instability across the country.
