Ebnolreza made the remarks in a message published online on Tuesday, saying Iran considers economic stability, public welfare and the security of its people part of its “defence field”, Iran’s English-language Press TV reports.
“Any pressure that targets the livelihoods and security of the people is part of the war,” he said.
He also warned that those seeking to expand the pressure campaign against Iran should expect Tehran to broaden its response within the framework of its national interests.
“Those who expand the field of pressure should know that we too will expand the field in defence of the people, within the framework of national interests,” Ebnolreza said.

According to Press TV, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced a new “economic terrorism” campaign against Iran on Monday, saying the measures target the country’s financial networks worldwide and warning that no partner is beyond Washington’s reach.
The United States unveiled a new wave of sanctions against Iran under the so-called “Operation Economic Outcast”, threatening secondary penalties against countries or entities that maintain trade ties with Tehran.
The new measures expand the risk of secondary sanctions in areas including digital assets, technology, gold, aviation and shipping, while targeting around 60 entities, individuals and vessels involved in facilitating Iranian trade, Press TV reported.
The broadcaster described the measures as part of a broader US campaign of economic pressure following what it characterised as months of unsuccessful military operations and a naval blockade that had failed to weaken Iran’s resolve.
