President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues during a phone call on Monday, according to the Turkish Communications Directorate. Erdoğan said Ankara would continue efforts to achieve the two nations’ bilateral trade volume target.
Erdoğan said expanding cooperation in many areas, particularly investment, would play a key role in that process. He also underlined the critical importance of accelerating cooperation in the defence industry, saying Türkiye would continue to pursue initiatives based on a “win-win” approach.
The call underscores the growing partnership between Türkiye and Senegal, with both sides committed to deepening economic and strategic cooperation. Ankara has been expanding its presence in Africa through diplomatic and economic engagement.
